Ghost Names @ Trimegistos

Today, 4 August, Trismegistos has put online a new database: Ghostnames. It contains more than 1300 ghostnames, with a typology of errors made in the course of a century by hundreds of papyrologists. It can be useful for people working with names, but also for editors of papyri, to help them avoid using wrong readings as parallels.

Trismegistos Ghostnames was originally a Master's thesis (1986) by Chris Eyckmans. It was later expanded by her supervisor Willy Clarysse, and he still adds new entries.
